Mr. Chastain was born in Cleveland, Tennessee on January 2, 1968. He was admitted to the State Bar of Tennessee in 1993. He attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, receiving a B.A. cum laude in 1990, and then graduated from the University of Tenmnessee at Knoxville with his J.D. in 1993. He was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta. Mr. Chastain is currently a member of the Knoxville, Tennessee and American Bar Associations; Defense Research Institute, and the American Bankruptcy Institute.

Mr. Chastain practices in the fields of general civil litigation, commercial law, workers compensation defense, debtor-creditor law and employment law.
