Mr. Ward grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and graduated from Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania in 1975 with a B.A. in History. He received an M.A. in International Economics from American University in Washington, D.C. and from L’Universite de Franche-Comte in Besancon, France in 1980 and graduated from George Mason University School of Law, Arlington, Virginia in 1987.
He began his career as a legislative analyst with the U.S. House of Representatives and later served as special assistant to the Chairman of the U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission. After graduation from law school, he engaged in private practice with Myerson & Kuhn in New York and also coordinated legal affairs for the Hotel Association of New York. From 1992 to 2009, Mr. Ward served as a federal prosecutor in the Eastern District of Tennessee, Knoxville, where his responsibilities included prosecution of cases involving white collar crime, organized crime and national security. He also served as an attorney advisor to the U. S. Trustees Office of the U.S. Department of Justice, which administers the federal bankruptcy system. He joined the firm January 1, 2010.
He has extensive experience in all phases of investigation and litigation involving complex financial matters, complex organizations and national security issues, including numerous jury and non-jury trials in federal court.
His practice is focused on commercial and business-related litigation, corporate bankruptcies and bankruptcy litigation.
